Privacy Policy
Last updated 4 September 2026
This policy explains what Anaesthesia Qbank collects, why, and who else processes it. It covers the iOS app and this website.
Anaesthesia Qbank is operated by GoDoctor Limited (“we”, “us”). If you are in the UK or EU, we are the data controller for the information described below.
What we collect
Account information. Your email address and name when you register. Your password is never stored in readable form — only a one-way bcrypt hash, which cannot be reversed to recover the password.
Your practice activity. The questions you answer, whether you answered correctly, how long you spend, the sessions and mock papers you sit, your accuracy by topic, streaks and achievements. This is the core of the service: without it we cannot show your progress, schedule questions for revisit, or calculate your Sit-Ready Score.
Subscription information. Whether you have an active subscription, which plan, and when it expires. Purchases made in the iOS app are processed by Apple. We never receive your card details — Apple does not disclose them to us.
Questions you send to the AI tutor. If you use the tutor, your message and the question you are working on are sent to OpenAI to generate a reply. Please do not enter personal or patient-identifiable information in the tutor.
Technical information. Standard server logs, including IP address, device type and timestamps, kept for security and diagnosing faults.
What we do not collect
We do not use advertising SDKs, analytics trackers, or any third-party tracking libraries. The app does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and does not ask for permission to do so, because it has no reason to. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
We do not ask for, and do not want, patient-identifiable clinical information.
Why we process it, and on what basis
For UK and EU users, our lawful bases are:
- Performance of a contract — running your account, delivering the question bank, tracking your progress, and managing your subscription.
- Legitimate interests — keeping the service secure, preventing abuse, diagnosing faults, and improving the questions and explanations.
- Consent — where we ask for it separately, such as optional emails. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Who else processes your data
We use a small number of providers, each only for the purpose listed:
| Provider | Purpose | Data |
|---|---|---|
| Heroku (Salesforce) | Application hosting and database | All service data |
| Apple | In-app purchases on iOS | Purchase and subscription records |
| RevenueCat | Subscription management and receipt validation | Account identifier, subscription status, country |
| Postmark | Transactional email such as password resets | Email address |
| OpenAI | Generating AI tutor replies | The tutor messages you send |
These providers process data on our instructions under contract. Some are based outside the UK and EU, in which case transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK International Data Transfer Agreements or EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and practice history for as long as your account exists, because your progress and revisit schedule depend on it. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security and diagnostics. If you delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we must keep records to meet legal or accounting obligations — such as transaction records for tax purposes.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from within the app, under Home › Account › Delete account. This removes your personal information and practice history. You can also email us and we will do it for you.
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription. Cancel that in your Apple account settings, or it will continue to renew.
Your rights
If you are in the UK or EU, you have the right to access a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to processing, and receive it in a portable format. Contact us and we will respond within one month.
If you think we have handled your data improperly, you may complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local supervisory authority. We would rather you told us first so we can fix it.
Children
Anaesthesia Qbank is intended for qualified doctors and medical trainees preparing for postgraduate examinations. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored on managed infrastructure with access limited to those who need it. Passwords are stored only as bcrypt hashes. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and for significant changes we will tell you in the app or by email.
